PlayStation Move Heroes: Watch the Story Trailer!
Posted by Mike Bates in PlayStation Games, playstation move, playstation move heroes, PS3, Trailers on February 9th, 2011
Well, this is it. Your first glimpse at what happens when six iconic characters finally come together. PlayStation Move Heroes unites Ratchet, Clank, Jak, Daxter, Sly and Bentley for a new adventure. This trailer does a great job hinting at the story, I don’t want to say anything more about what’s in store for our favorite heroes!
What I will say is that working with these six characters has been really fun. Insomniac Games, Naughty Dog, and Sucker Punch have developed rich and appealing heroes. Just letting them be themselves has been the biggest goal on this project, and the most rewarding. Allowing the heroes to reveal their individual quirks alongside one another showed us just how unique and entertaining each hero really is.
We’ve even been fortunate enough to have all the original voice actors return to reprise their roles. James Arnold Taylor, David Kaye, Michael Erwin, Max Casella, Kevin Miller, and Matt Olsen have stepped right back in and brought all of the original personalities that we’ve come to know from these characters.
Adding to this incredible line-up are Roger Craig Smith and Richard Horvitz, who have breathed life into two new characters: the galactic fanboy Gleeber and his little snot of a sidekick, Lunk. One of the biggest tasks these new characters had was to hold their own next to the iconic heroes. Roger and Richard have done a fantastic job helping to create something fresh and new that could easily fit into any of the heroes’ worlds. And as you’ll hear in the game, the enemies also have a fantastic cast, bringing humor and character to every encounter of the game.
With the characters in the lead, the artists and animators at Nihilistic, VASG and Brain Zoo strived to hit the high bar of excitement and depth that you’ve come to expect from these series. Every corner of the levels and every minute of the cinematics have something going on, so don’t blink!
Being able to live with this gang of heroes has been quite a blast. We hope you’ll enjoy it too!
Killzone 3 Story Trailer: Malcolm McDowell and Ray Winstone Lead the Helghast
Posted by Aryeh Loeb in guerrilla games, killzone 3, PlayStation Games, PS3, Trailers on January 6th, 2011
You’ve seen footage of Killzone 3’s jetpack-fueled aerial combat along the Frozen Shores of Helghan, and you’ve seen glimpses of the incredible showdown against the titanic MAWLR. Now, meet the key players of the Killzone 3 campaign mode in this explosive new story trailer!
Along with familiar faces from Killzone 2 such as Sev, Rico and Narville, you’ll find a couple of fresh ones: the resourceful female ISA member Jammer, as well as the hopeful heirs to Visari’s throne, Jorhan Stahl and Admiral Orlock. When the latter two lock horns, their actions will shape Helghan’s destiny – as well as the future of the ISA members still trapped there.
Since Brian Cox’s performance as Scolar Visari is a tough act to follow, Guerrilla signed on two veteran actors for the roles of his successors in the English version of Killzone 3: Malcolm McDowell, who plays the scheming Stahl Arms CEO, and Ray Winstone, who plays the gruff Helghast Admiral. With over 70 years of acting experience between them, McDowell and Winstone lend an intriguing dynamic to the power struggle that rages in parallel to the war on Helghan.
Stay tuned to Killzone.com, because in the coming weeks we’ll be taking a closer look at the backgrounds and motivations for the story’s main characters, as well as the actors who’ve brought them to life. In the meantime, enjoy this new story trailer, and let us know what you think in the comments!

Swords & Soldiers Adds PlayStation Move Support!
Posted by Jasper Koning in PlayStation Games, playstation move, PS3, PSN, ronimo games, swords and soliders, Trailers on November 29th, 2010
Just a few weeks ago, we released Swords & Soldiers for the PlayStation Network, and the response has been overwhelming! The strategic action gameplay is being enjoyed by lots of gamers, offline as well as online. With 3 unique factions, 30 levels of gameplay, customizable skirmishes, 3 highscore arcade challenges and local and online multiplayer modes, there’s lots of game to enjoy.
Now there’s a whole new way to enjoy Swords & Soldiers… because we’ve added PlayStation Move support in our latest patch! Just connect a PlayStation Move to your PlayStation 3 and you will be able to navigate the menus and gameplay using the Move‘s cursor function. You can also mix control schemes on a single PS3 as well as face off against people online with different control schemes. So far we have been unable to find any advantage for one over the other, but if you find any, let us know!
Speaking of balance, we’ve also done a few small tweaks to the balance between the three factions. Most importantly, we’ve made the Vikings slightly stronger in the endgame and the Chinese slightly slower to start. Hopefully now we’ll see some Vikings holding their own near the top spots of the rankings as well!
We’ve also changed the trial version of the game. It now includes a few additional, more challenging levels. So if you haven’t checked out the trial, or felt it was a bit too easy or shallow: check out the new version to get a better taste of what Swords & Soldiers is all about!

Dead Nation Hits PlayStation Store this Week, Eradicate the Infection!
Posted by David Bull in dead nation, housemarque, PlayStation Games, PSN, Trailers on November 29th, 2010
The week you’ve been waiting for is here! Dead Nation will release on the PlayStation Store tomorrow, November 30th for $14.99 in North America (and at a 20% discount to PlayStation Plus subscribers for $11.99).
We’re pleased to present the Dead Nation launch trailer below. As you can see, we’ve revealed a few new treats such as the Molotov Cocktail, Shocker weapon, and Cutter special zombie.
The molotov cocktail is an important tactical item in your arsenal as it creates a wall of fire protecting you from the undead hordes coming to eat you alive. The incredibly powerful Shocker can take out waves of the undead hungry for warm flesh. Just like the other Special Zombies, the Cutter is force to be feared with huge blade arms that can cut you in half in just one swipe!
Fight through the campaign on your own in Dead Nation or join a friend (on the couch or online) to eradicate the infection. With features like the twin-stick shooting style and the use of recharging rush and point multipliers, it’s clear that Dead Nation is built with the same DNA of Housemarque’s last break-thru PSN hit, Super Stardust HD.
Dead Nation will be available on the PlayStation Store tomorrow. Download the game and fight the zombie virus to save mankind!

Prinny 2: First Trailer, Panties Design Contest
Posted by Ryan Phillips in contests, nis, PlayStation Games, prinny 2: dawn of operation panties dood, PSN, psp, Trailers on October 25th, 2010
Dood! I’m here to tell you all about our brand new contest we have devised to hopefully help our favorite Demon Lord Etna to forget all about her lost panties. In order to escape her wrath and specifically from being skinned alive, we’re asking our fans to design a new pair of panties that our favorite Demon Lord herself wouldn’t mind wearing!
Three lucky contestants will be chosen by a panel of us here at NIS America and will win a free copy of Prinny 2: Dawn of Operation Panties, Dood! for PSP. On top of that, the best design will be made into actual panties and will be sent to the top three contestants and also to 50 randomly picked participants! Get creative and help out the Prinnies by making a most-excellent pair of panties for Etna, dood! Check out all of the details here at the Official Contest Page!
On top of that we have prepared the first trailer for Prinny 2 and wanted to share it with all of you!
Those who played the last Prinny adventure — Prinny: Can I Really Be the Hero? — probably already know this, but this game is designed to be challenging. On my first playthrough, I managed to put a serious dent in my 1000 prinny lives before completing it. However, there’s a new addition that I think a lot of players will like, which is called “Baby” mode. The previous version only had “Standard” and “Hell’s Finest” and even on Standard, a lot of players still found some parts and bosses to be on par with side-scrollers from the 80’s in terms of difficulty. “Baby” mode can be activated within the game when necessary to help with game progress and can stop some grey hairs from sprouting. In my case it helped prevent choice words and hand signals from being expressed in the testing room.
I’d like to also take a quick moment to talk to all of you about some of the new Prinny abilities that are mentioned in the trailer. On top of the basic abilities that were included in the original Prinny: Can I Really Be the Hero, there are some really unique features for Prinny 2. One of the most notable abilities available is the new “Break Mode.” The way it works is you first have to eat enough sweets or attack to build your Break Gauge. After a certain point, you can enter “Break Mode” and it will allow you to do 3 separate abilities that can really give you an edge in battle or boss encounters. On top of the special abilities, you will experience a slight damage increase also when using your standard jump slash or normal slash attacks. Break mode now gives you an even bigger reason to get ready for a serious button mashing session, as using it can have a direct correlation to your success against a boss or in certain parts of each level.
The first Break Mode ability is called the “Husky Hip Pound.” Much like the hip pound in the last Prinny game, this ability not only has the ability to stun, it has the ability to damage too! The second new ability is called the Prinny Cyclone. Using the Prinny spin technique while in Break Mode will allow you to do a powerful spin technique that will unleash damage to all nearby enemies that you spin over. Lastly, there is the “Prinnikaze” ability. After building your gauge to Break Mode, you can activate an extremely powerful diving sword attack that will deal extra damage to both enemy and boss alike, dood!
On a funny side note, another comical ability appears in Prinny 2 in an item called a Netheryam. Once get one, you instantly start to fart and it lifts you into the air until it runs out. It can be used to get to areas that would otherwise be unreachable, to navigate a certain area of the map, or to soar over your enemies shamelessly with the power of self-reliance using your own gas.
That’s it for this installment from here at NIS America, stay tuned for updated screenshots, character pics, and more trailers on our Official Prinny 2 Website. Laters, dood!
