MLB 11 The Show “In a Jam” Trailer Gets Epic
Posted by Tyler Vaught in mlb 11: the show, PlayStation Games, PS3, san diego studios on February 1st, 2011
Sports fans –
We’re only a few weeks away from Spring Training which means baseball season is almost here! So before pitchers and catchers report, we thought we’d show you our new MLB 11 The Show trailer, entitled “In a Jam.” As you’ll see in the video, flamethrower and AL Rookie of the Year Neftali Feliz has been called in to finish off Angels All-Star Torii Hunter. With one out and runners at the corners, a ground ball could end the threat. Can the Rangers turn 2?
More than ever before, MLB 11 The Show showcases the real-life intensity and drama of Major League Baseball. “In a Jam” is the first in a series of three cinematic trailers that demonstrate the photo-realistic visuals and stadium designs, custom animations, and heart-pounding action that The Show will be bringing in 2011. But the experience doesn’t stop there—MLB 11 features Pure Analog controls, all new co-op play (online and offline), an improved Road to The Show mode, and the ability to compete for real-world prizes in the all new Challenge of the Week.
Check back soon for more MLB 11 The Show announcements and stay tuned for Chapter 2… “Yankee Killer.” Don’t forget: Reserve and Purchase MLB 11 The Show and receive FREE 30 days MLB.TV on your PS3!

2011 CES Show Floor Report: MLB 11 The Show
Posted by Rey Gutierrez in ces11, mlb 11: the show, PlayStation Games, playstation move, PS3, san diego studios on January 7th, 2011
Sports! If there’s two things that baseball has ever taught me it’s that 1) hot girls love the sport and 2) MLB 11 The Show faithfully recreates the favorite American pastime on the PS3. But don’t take my word for it, Jeff and I tracked down community manager Ramone Russell who gave us an in-depth look at the new (alternative) analog control mechanics, new four-player co-op mode, the 3D experience and PlayStation Move functionality.
Baseball, 3D, Move support and hot girls? Sold. Also, the above video proves that anything can happen when my camera is rolling. Now can someone grab me a hot dog?
MLB 10: The Show Predicts: Giants in 7
Posted by Jason Villa in mlb 10 the show, PlayStation Games, PS3, san diego studios on October 26th, 2010
Hey baseball fans! With the World Series ready to get underway, we’re here to predict the winner of this year’s Fall Classic using the most realistic baseball game on the market, MLB 10: The Show. We simulated the match-up between the Texas Rangers and San Francisco Giants, and are excited to see that a seven-game classic is in our future. Here’s a quick video rundown of the series:
Much as they did against the Yankees, Texas jumped to an early lead in Game 1 and then blew it open against the Giants bullpen. After San Francisco bounced back to take Game 2 easily, the series moved to Arlington for a pivotal Game 3. Texas battled back from a 4-0 deficit to lead 5-4 in the ninth, but Aubrey Huff hit a two-run homer off Neftali Feliz and the Giants seized control of the series with a 7-5 win. A 6-3 triumph in Game 4 extended the Giants’ lead three-games to one, but Cliff Lee continued to be an almost unhittable force in the postseason for the Rangers, throwing eight innings of six-hit ball and winning Game 5, 4-3.
Still, the Giants had two chances on their home field to win it all. In Game 6, it was the Rangers’ turn to leave the hometown fans heartbroken, as they rallied for two runs in the 8th and two more in the 10th to win 4-3 and force a deciding Game 7.
In Game 7, pitching ruled the day as the teams combined for just five hits over nine innings. Leading off the bottom of the 10th, Pat Burrell’s fourth home run of the Series not only cemented his claim to series MVP award, it gave the Giants their first World Series title since moving west in 1958.
Here are the game-by-game scores:
- Game 1: Texas 10, San Francisco 3
- Game 2: San Francisco 9, Texas 1
- Game 3: San Francisco 7, Texas 5
- Game 4: San Francisco 6, Texas 3
- Game 5: Texas 4, San Francisco 3
- Game 6: Texas 4, San Francisco 2 (10 innings)
- Game 7: San Francisco 1, Texas 0 (10 innings)
And here are some of the Series’ top performers:
San Francisco Giants:
- Pat Burrell (MVP): 10-28, 4 HR, 11 RBI
- Buster Posey: 10-30, 3 HR, 6 RBI
- Matt Cain: 2 games, 1-0, 15 IP, 8H, 1 ER, CG in Game 2
Texas Rangers:
- Cliff Lee: 2 games, 2-0, 16 IP, 12 K, 2.81 ERA
- Josh Hamilton: 7-29, 2 2B, 3 RBI
- Elvis Andrus: 8-22, 4 runs, 2 RBI, 2 SB
How accurate is MLB 10: The Show? The World Series starts tomorrow – we’ll know soon!

I’m back with two videos for you. First is the ModNation Racers launch trailer that shows what we feel is the core of the game: Racing and Creating wherever you are.
Second, I’m happy to give you the final installment of our behind-the-scenes look at ModNation Racers PSP. It was a crazy year, and in this video you can see it all come together as we get ready to ship for our May 25th shelf date. As you saw in the last video, we have some of the best programmers and artists in the industry and in this follow-up you can see how the entire team comes together, whether at 10am or 4am, to ship a killer game. Working side by side with us is our QA group. You met several testers and management in the last vid, and here you will see how integral this talented, dedicated group is.
This game has been an amazing journey and we are all very proud to be part of the ModNation family. Keep an eye out for some of the names you see in these videos while racing and throughout the community. Our guys have made some great Mods (including Biff and Gary, Mom, and the rest of the Career family), Karts, and Tracks that are some of our favorites. The thousands of creations that the community has already published is making our goal of unlimited download possibilities become a reality!
Hope you all have enjoyed the look ‘behind the curtain’ and enjoy the game as much as we do.
MLB 10 The Show Pitches In To Support “Stand Up To Cancer”
Posted by Eric Levine in Featured Post, mlb 10 the show, PlayStation Games, PS3, san diego studios on June 10th, 2010
Baseball fans –
As we approach the MLB All-Star break, I’d like to tell you all about an important partnership that SCEA is involved in this summer. We are teaming up with Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C) and Major League Baseball (MLB) to aid in the fight against cancer. Beginning June 13 through July 10, for every copy of MLB 10 The Show purchased for PS3 in US retail stores, SCEA will donate $10 of its proceeds to SU2C to fuel research centered on getting new treatments to patients quickly and saving lives.
With Father’s Day approaching in just over a week, MLB 10 The Show provides the perfect gift for the baseball fanatic dad in your family. Not only will fans get the most authentic and realistic sports game around, but it will also allow them to join the ever-growing SU2C community to raise awareness and support for cancer research. Major League Baseball is a founding partner of SU2C and has been continuing to support in the years since. We’re thrilled to join them in this fight and hope we can inspire others in the industry to do the same.
Welcome to The Show!
ModNation Monday: Community Website Revealed
Posted by Ramone Russell in modnation racers, PlayStation Games, PS3, psp, san diego studios, united front games on June 7th, 2010
Hi everyone, Ramone Russell here with a bit of ModNation Racers news. All great games deserve their own website and ModNation Racers is no different. Today we are excited to reveal the Community Website. (For those who haven’t stumbled across it during our soft launch)
Community.ModNation.com is your one stop shop for all things ModNation Racers when you aren’t taking down Espresso in your career or trying to break the Hot Lap time for the day in the ModSpot. Interacting with ModNation Racer’s web community is only the tip of the iceberg. You can search/view all the top rated Karts, Mods, and Tracks from both the PS3 and PSP versions of ModNation Racers. In addition, Hot Lap, XP, and Race leaderboards from the game are searchable here as well.
ModNation Racer’s community portal was built mostly in house here at the San Diego Studio. The San Diego Online Development team started working on ModNation Racers’ community portal over 6 months ago with heavy involvement and input from United Front Games. Providing everyone a seamless experience from the game to the game’s website was one of our goals from day one.
Browsing creations and viewing the leaderboards are just a fraction of the features included in the site. You can also visit the forums and interact with other members of the ModNation Racers community, including members of the development team at UFG. In the coming months we will introduce new features to the site, many of which will come from community requests. It’s also a great place to provide feedback and let us know what you think about ModNation Racers.
The home page of ModNation Racers Community Portal. Here you can browse the Top 5 Mods/Karts/Tracks, view yesterdays Hot Lap Champ and Top Players. It’s also where you can create your personalized signature.
By clicking on the Creations tab you can browse thousands of community created Mods, Karts, and Tracks using the same search options found in the circle menu.
The Leaderboards tab allows you to browse by Hot Lap, Race, Creation, and XP.
Your personalized profile card displays all of your stats and the Mods/Karts you have uploaded to the servers.
Last but certainly not least, ModNation Racers official forums. Be sure to check weekly for official ModNation Racers news and event updates from the development team.
Well, that’s all from me for now. We look forward to seeing you in the ModSpot and on Community.ModNation.com.
Me and my low-rider
P.S. Ready for a new Kart or Mod? Every 2 weeks we will be introducing new Mods and Karts on the PSN! Each comes with new accessories you can use for your own creations.
We kicked things of with Van Man and his Super Nova Kart.
Tomorrow “Vamp” hits the track in a Kart fitting for the undead. A new Mod or Kart for ModNation Racers PS3 is only ($.99) separately and ($1.75) for the bundle.
