Top Darts $9.99 on PSN Today with 1080p, PlayStation Move, Custom Dartboards

Earlier this month we announced the PlayStation Move exclusive PSN game Top Darts by Devil’s Details and SCEE XDEV. I’m pleased to announce it is available today exclusively on the PlayStation Store.

As a quick recap, Top Darts is a game that utilizes the PlayStation Move motion controller to give the realistic feeling of throwing darts. It’s a game for all users who have an interest in playing classic games such as 501, Around the Clock and Cricket. Top Darts also has unique games such as Mayhem, Fusewire, Cat and Mouse, Stack Up and many more.

The game allows you to bring a lot of your own personality into the game. For example, you can customize your darts to match your personal style or use the PlayStation Eye camera to customize your avatar and even the dart board. For an interesting effect while playing, you can use the camera to capture video that displays on the dart board during gameplay.

Top Darts for PlayStation Move (PSN)

In our previous announcement a lot of you asked how the throw mechanics would be used in the game. Check out the trailer to see more of the game and to get an insight into how the PlayStation Move controller is held and used in the game.

Top Darts is a game for darts enthusiasts and those who hold a casual interest in darts. It has an extensive Single Player League and Cup campaign modes. Up to 8 player local gameplay support in a dozen game modes. Four locales each with a optional unique dart board style. It’s a ton of gameplay that feels great with the Move controller and it’s a lot of fun. I hope you enjoy the game as much as I have enjoyed playing it. And it’s available today for $9.99 exclusively on the PlayStation Store. Happy Holidays everyone.

Kung-Fu Live for PS3: You Are the Controller

Hey dudes! I’m really excited to let you all know that our new game Kung-Fu Live is coming to the PSN Store later this year! It’s a unique fighting adventure that uses the PlayStation Eye and our internally developed tech to create an experience like never before.

Kung-Fu Live for PS3 and PlayStation Eye

As some of you may have heard, we announced Kung-Fu Live with a playable sneak preview last week in New York. The reception from journalists, as well as gamers, has totally overwhelmed us! We also found ourselves in the middle of the rising motion gaming discussion as many of the stories call out that our game already does what Natal is trying for: Kung-Fu Live uses full-body skeleton tracking to track the player’s moves in real-time. Thus, people have been saying that our game and tech using the PlayStation Eye is stealing the thunder from Natal. LOL!

With our Freemotion technology and the awesome quality of the PlayStation Eye camera, full-body motion gaming is already here. Kung-Fu Live also scans you inside the game world where you literally become the hero of the game. There you are boosted with super human abilities, such as being able to jump flips without actually making flips, do high jump kicks, shoot lightning from your hands, and so on. Oh yeah, not to mention that you can do The Matrix trick of slowing the speed of your opponents’ time while you kick their asses.

Kung-Fu Live for PS3 and PlayStation Eye

So toss away the gamepad for a change and experience what it’s like to be Jackie Chan (no real martial art skills needed): Punch, kick, jump and pummel your enemies into oblivion using your body as your only weapon. I can’t wait to show you guys more of Kung-Fu LIVE, but for now, check out the teaser trailer above for a glimpse of the kick-ass action we have in store.

Feel free to post questions here about the game, I’ll try to answer them as best I can.

P.S: For legal purposes, I have to add a small disclaimer: Freemotion technology can make you extremely fit — just by playing a video game! Any resulting six packs are unintentional. :-) I lost about four pounds in four days playing the game for an hour a day. For once, I’m ready for the beach before the summer starts!

PlayStation Eye Chat: Shatter Multiplayer

Shatter is easily one of my favorite PSN games from last year. So when we heard rumblings of multiplayer and other modes/features coming to the game, we went to go straight to the source for all the details.

So I’d like to welcome back Mario Wynands, Managing Director and Co-Founder of Sidhe, whom you originally met here. If you still haven’t downloaded Shatter on PSN/PS3, you’ll get a nice intro to the game in this video. But beyond that, Mario talks about some in-the-works stuff including Home integration, the inclusion of multiplayer modes and even the release of the game’s soundtrack. And if you make it to the end of the video, you’ll get a close-up of the physical CD version of the soundtrack, which you can snag by paying close attention to our Twitter feed today.

Battlefield Bad Company 2 Beta launches tomorrow!

So what can we expect from the PS3-exclusive Battlefield Bad Company 2 beta, exactly? DICE Producer Gordon van Dyke joined me via PlayStation Eye chat to talk about the Arica Harbor map, the destruction you can cause due to the game’s Frostbite engine, and how you can win your way into the beta. Oh and there are lots of explosions. Pretty, pretty explosions.

To elaborate on a few things – you can follow the Official Battlefield Bad Company 2 Twitter here, and one of those sites giving out beta codes is… this one.

Behind the Scenes with God of War Collection – Developer Commentary

One day. That’s all there’s left to wait until you’ll be slashing it up with your Blades of Chaos, soaking up orbs and hording Trophies like nobody’s business in God of War Collection. So to get you riled up while you wait, we have a very cool treat — a director’s commentary-style video with the team(s) behind this incredibly impressive remastered Blu-ray collection that includes God of War and God of War II in glorious HD, along with two full sets of Trophies and more.

Joining me via PlayStation Eye is developer Bluepoint Games President Andy O’Neil and CTO Marco Thrush, along with Santa Monica Studios Director of Technology Tim Moss. The trio dishes over five brand-new minutes of HD footage, revealing some great info on the development of God of War Collection and how they made the magic happen.
