Posted by Mick Perona in lbpdlc, littlebigplanet, media molecule, PlayStation Games, PS3, psp, sce cambridge studio on April 2nd, 2010
Yesterday being April Fool’s Day and all, we thought you might need a “breath of fresh air”…
What’s New?
Hessian Sackboy Fragrances – Released yesterday on the PlayStation Store were the delicious smelling Hessian Sackboy Fragrances.
During your next “shopping trip” to the PlayStation Store, be sure to grab these fragrances (Hey, it’s a Sack of a Lot better than going to the mall and having those annoying “perfume girls” with clown makeup pop out of nowhere like a bad horror movie, and spray you in the eyes with some nasty overpriced stink potion!) I’m just sayin’…
During this one-week limited time offer, why not treat your Sackboy or Sackgirl to the finest fragrances available, whether it be the very essence of masculinity itself with “Hessian Pour Homme,” or the captivating aroma of pure beauty with “Hessian Pour Femme?”
Disney’s “Incredibles” are coming to LittleBigPlanet!

Tip: You really might want to consider getting the costume kit to have Sackboy covered. Have you ever seen Sackboy when he can’t find his “Frozone” costume? It looks a little something like this:

Media Molecule Officially Joins the PlayStation Family
Posted by Jeff Rubenstein in littlebigplanet, media molecule, news, PlayStation Games, PS3 on March 2nd, 2010
Today we announced that we have purchased Media Molecule, creators of the beloved LittleBigPlanet, making them a wholly owned part of Sony Computer Entertainment. Welcome Molecules!
Michael Denny, Senior Vice President of Worldwide Studios Europe, had this to say about the deal.
The decision was an easy one after meeting five young, talented people with a massive ambition to redefine video games as we know them and create and grow a fantastically talented team at Media Molecule. This was followed by a fantastic exclusive relationship that culminated in the launch of one of the most innovative PlayStation games of recent years. Of course, LittleBigPlanet needs no introduction here, as it was thanks to you that it became a best selling PS3 title when it released in late 2008.
The acquisition will enhance the talent pool within SCE, protect past and current investment and ensure a solid base for future investment. Media Molecule have exciting projects in the pipeline and we’re looking forward to sharing these with you in the not too distant future.
The most important thing is that nothing will change from your perspective; Media Molecule will simply continue to make great games. Welcoming Media Molecule into the PlayStation family will allow us to better support their future titles and ambitions.
For more comments from Denny, and a rather exhaustive list of the awards that Media Molecule has earned over the past couple of years, click on over to the European PlayStation.Blog. You can find the press release, with comments from SCE Worldwide Studios President Shuhei Yoshida and Media Molecule co-founder Alex Evans, directly below.
