Hey everyone, Happy Monday! Mick here again with LittleBigPlanet’s “This Week in DLC” goodness! Last week we announced everyone’s favorite hedgehog coming to LittleBigPlanet on the PS3! Also coming this Thursday is some really cool Easter-themed content for LBP PSP. Check it out!
New on the PlayStation Store

Hey Everyone, Mick Perona here with an update on all things LittleBigPlanet. Some VERY exciting news for you today, check it out!
Sonic is headed to LittleBigPlanet next Thursday!
Sonic the Hedgehog, along with Sonic’s alter-ego beast form, the WereHog, his pals Knuckles and Tails, and his nemesis Dr. Eggman have come to LittleBigPlanet to break some sound barriers! You can get all five individual character costumes for SackBoy, but you’ll want to be sure to pick up the Costume Kit that not only includes all five costumes, but also a selection of retro stickers based on the classic Sonic the Hedgehog adventures. This way you can make your own Sonic levels with Sonic style!
and speaking of Sonic levels….
Here’s an awesome level made by the extremely talented Creator Curator Kiminski. The level is called Sonic the Hedgehog: Greenhill zone and you can play it right now!
SackBoy is extremely excited about this weeks launch of God of War III exclusively for the PS3 system! He’s been all nostalgic about the event by going back and playing his favorite God of War themed community levels in LittleBigPlanet!
Be sure to join in on all the glorious Kratos action and grab the Kratos Costume and the God of War Level Kit on the PlayStation Store.
LittleBigPlanet PSP – It’s contest time!

Hey everyone, Mick Perona here…just wanted to say hello, introduce myself, and welcome you to this week’s Sack It To Me post, The “Community” Edition. And speaking of community, as part of the LittleBigPlanet marketing team here at SCEA, I’ll be guiding my Sackboy as he bravely traverses the interwebs so we can bring you all of the bits and bytes no proper SackPerson should be without! So without further adieu (get’s out Popit and fastens a “Ta-Da!” sound to this level)…
Community Levels
HASTAC/MacArthur Foundation Contest Update
As part of our collaborative effort with HASTAC and the MacArthur Foundation to encourage students to pursue science, technology, engineering and math in new and revolutionary ways, we thought you’d enjoy checking out the latest entry for the “Game Changer’s” category. This nifty community creation was submitted by the same LBP community members that made the popular “LittleBigContra” levels. It’s titled, “To the Moon and Beyond,” and to announce their project, they’ve released a trailer to give us all an insight of what’s to come:
User Spotlight
PSN member gevurah22 has another great level to share with the LittleBigPlanet community. He’s just finished a proper sequel to “Azure Palace” but this time, with water levels!
The first part is called: “Knights of the Azure Palace – Part 1.” Check out the trailer here.
Not only can you play this level, but additionally, LBPCentral is also hosting a contest for all you Sackboys and Sackgirls that includes the chance at winning these cute little guys:

Workshop of the Week
Every month, the LittleBigWorkshop forums hold a themed level create contest, and the winner is bestowed with the ultimate desirable, the one and only Rare PrizeCrown. There are still two weeks left to enter February’s contest, which is themed around Valentine’s Day, and requires entrants to build a two player co-op level. And even if you don’t win, what could be more fun than sacking about with your Valentine?
Not to worry though, if you want more time to build something SackTastic, the contest will start all over again on March 1 with a new theme, and again every month after that.

As mentioned in our last post, we’re trying something new to keep you up to date on all things LittleBigPlanet DLC. So on Mondays we’ll be here filling you in on the latest DLC coming to the PlayStation Store. In time, we hope to fill out this post with more DLC-related news, announcements, highlights, etc. But for now, this week’s post…
As Valentine’s Day draws near, PSP fans will be able to dress up their Sackboys and Sackgirls with costumes of ‘Luvre’! Two new packs will release on the Store this Thursday, February 11:
Luvre Costume for LBP PSP (FREE) – Show the world that you’re all heart, with this free costume that’s, er, filled with hearts…
Luvre Theme Pack for LBP PSP ($2.99) – Here’s an idea. Create a lovely custom level for your special valentine with this new theme pack. Then have your valentine play through the level designed specifically for them – it will be the best valentine ever! To help you, this pack offers 15 valentine-themed stickers to decorate your level and 4 costumes to dress up your Sackboy/girl in. And when you’re done, upload it for the rest of the LBP fans to play – and maybe use for our own valentine :)

Between the PS3 and PSP versions of LittleBigPlanet, we have a ton of downloadable content lined up. And in an effort to let you all know what’s coming up, we’re starting something new — a weekly post dedicated to LBP DLC and the goodness surrounding it. Check back on Mondays for new info on upcoming DLC to a PlayStation Store near you. Also, if you have an idea for a name of the Monday post, include it in your comments!

LittleBigPlanet: Sack it to Me – The “Sackboy for Haiti” Edition

Sackboy for Haiti
In an effort to contribute to Haiti relief, we’ve teamed up with our friends over at IGN.com and we’re auctioning off set of a Sackboy hands. These are the same hands used in our latest LBP PSP launch trailer.
LittleBigPlanet (PSP) Updates
We know tons of you were waiting for this, so we’re pleased to update all our LBP (PSP) creators with some new DLC.
Update (FREE – Required) – First things first — before accessing any new DLC on your PSP, be sure to get the latest LBP update (either directly through your XMB–wifi required–or through the PlayStation Store).
The Sack that Time forgot Theme ($2.99) – If you’re itching to create levels that take Sackboy back to prehistoric days, this pack’s for you. The pack is filled with four new costumes and 12 themed stickers. Click here for more info.
Gardens Costumes (FREE) – Get your Sack-mits on the latest fashions from the familiar Gardens levels from the PS3 version.
Gardens Theme ($2.99) – The refreshing smell of the morning garden can’t match all the goodies found in the Gardens Theme. Tons of Create materials and even more stickers will help you build Sackboy’s adventures with the original LBP Gardens Level materials.

Groundhog Day Costumes – Popping its head out of the ground for another year is the free Groundhog Day costume. It’ll only be up for one week only, so you better head on over and download it now!

“Game Changer” Update – For those of you still tinkering around with your $50,000 idea, head on over to the updated Game Changers site. They’ve just opened up a public commenting area where applicants are encouraged to seek partnerships with other applicants that make either/both proposed projects stronger. As you know, sharing is caring, but hurry — applications are due by February 15.
Contraption Challenge #9 – Over on the EU forums, they’re voting on the “Contraption Challenge #9,” challenging players to create a gap-crossing vehicle. Here’s a glimpse of the contraption finalists…pretty creative stuff.
