God of War III Vengeance Trailer
Posted by Stig Asmussen in god of war III, PlayStation Games, PS3, santa monica studios on February 12th, 2010
Just wanted to tell everyone how excited we are at SCEA Santa Monica Studio to release this new trailer for God of War III. Considering it has been almost a year since we have put out a new video, this is a really special time for us and we hope everyone enjoys it!
Just to give a little perspective on what we were going for with this trailer, we really wanted to sell the high action of the game and put together snippets of several of the big moments. Everything is pulled straight from the game – there is no trickery, etc. Everything is running in “real time.” There are no “cinematic” sequences here, meaning this is all gameplay.
Towards the end of the trailer we reveal some of the moments from our January media event. If you look closely you can see Kratos on the arm of Gaia fighting against the “Leviathan” water creature, giving a sneak peek of the scale in our game. I am very proud of the work our team has done and how this trailer showcases it. The final game has a ton more that is not shown here and I can’t wait to see what everyone thinks about it!

Qore Episode 21 – Featuring Yakuza 3, Battlefield: Bad Company 2, Resonance of Fate, and the God of War III Demo
Posted by Kevin Furuichi in battlefield bad company 2, god of war III, Inside PlayStation, PlayStation Games, PlayStation Network, QORE, resonance of fate, yakuza 3 on February 4th, 2010
We know you’ve been anxiously waiting to get your hands on God of War III, and fortunately the wait is almost over. To reward our loyal fan base, the God of War III E3 demo is now available for all current Qore subscribers. You’ll find it listed in this episode’s download center.
Special thanks to the God of War III team for providing an early look at this incredible game.
Also this month, Qore’s Audrey Cleo reports from Japan on the latest game in the Yakuza series. She takes us through Yakuza 3’s authentic environments and intriguing characters to find out if the baddest gangster in Tokyo’s underworld has a soft side.
While in Toyko, she also takes us on a whirlwind tour of the gadget and geek paradise of Akihabara, famous for its selection of electronics, computers, manga and anime, to discover the most interesting items to be found.
These days, first-person shooters set in a warzone are ubiquitous, so how can one game distinguish itself from another? Qore visited the producer of Battlefield: Bad Company 2 to walk us through the game’s multiplayer component. Strap on your helmet — you’re in for a wild ride!
RPGs are making a big splash on the PS3 this year, with titles such as White Knight Chronicles and Final Fantasy XIII. Star Ocean developer tri-Ace is getting into the action with Resonance of Fate. Qore brings you a hands-on look at this gorgeous new futuristic JRPG.
With 2010 shaping up to be a huge year for the PS3, we asked the editors at PlayStation: The Official Magazine to give us their picks of the titles and trends we should be looking out for in the months to come. And, as always, Qore gives you a peek at the latest and greatest Blu-ray movie releases coming your way.
All subscribers and purchasers can also download exclusive Yakuza 3 and Battlefield: Bad Company 2 PS3 themes this month.
Look for Episode 21 today.
Kratos Fury Invading Local 7-Eleven Stores
Posted by Evan Brody in 7-Eleven, god of war III, news, PlayStation Games, PS3 on January 29th, 2010
Hi all, my name is Evan Brody, the Marketing Manager for Slurpee and Big Gulp Brands. Basically I’m the guy who gets to work with cool properties like God of War III to create promotions for Slurpee drinks. For those of you who can’t get enough of Kratos before the March release (let’s face it, that’s most of us), I’ve got some exciting news to share! For the past few months we’ve been busy working with our good friends at Mountain Dew and at SCEA to formulate the perfect blend of ferocious blackberries and frosty limes to create “Kratos Fury,” the featured Slurpee flavor for the months of February and March at your local 7-Eleven stores. And to sweeten the deal, this vengeful delight will be available in one of four exclusive God of War III Slurpee cups. The limited Kratos Fury flavor and exclusive God of War III cups will hit 7-Eleven stores across the U.S. starting next week, but I’ve got your first look at the artwork below:
*While supplies last
Between February 1st and March 31st, you can stop into any participating 7-Eleven store to quench your thirst with a one-of-a-kind fruit flavored Slurpee drink and pick up one (or more!) of four God of War III cups to collect Slurpee Nation rewards codes that can be redeemed at Slurpee.com for exclusive God of War III and Slurpee-themed downloadable content. We also pulled some strings to give you a sneak peek at some of the goods:
While you’re at 7-Eleven, you can also pick up a 2 Liter or 20oz bottle of Mountain Dew to score an additional voucher code that can be redeemed for a Mountain Dew hoodie or God of War III virtual t-shirt for PlayStation Home.
We’ve got more updates coming, so here’s a tip – start building up your brain-freeze tolerance now and check back next week for more details from the PlayStation team.

God of War III Info Drought Ends Now
Posted by Jeff Rubenstein in god of war III, PlayStation Games, PS3 on January 18th, 2010
It’s not often that buzz builds behind a news embargo, but judging by comments on the Blog, it seems a lot of you have been looking forward to hearing more about God of War III today. I’m happy to report that with the release of these screens and impressions of the game from last month’s New York preview event, you’ll be seeing GoW III updates much more frequently.
Back to last months’ event, we’ve been dying to share what we saw since we first laid eyes on this Titan-riding, boss-fighting segment of the game. We could tell you how awesome it looks (and plays), how insane the realtime rendering is, how huge the Titans and boss(es) are, but I’m sure you’d rather hear it from more impartial sources such as Destructoid and IGN (look for impressions from many other sites to hit today as well).
If the wait until God of War III’s March release seems unbearable, I’m right there with you. We’re almost there, and we have MAG, White Knight Chronicles, and Heavy Rain to tide us over until then…
God of War: Unearthing the Legend for the Ultimate Fan!
Posted by Chanana2 in god of war III, PlayStation Games, PS3 on January 15th, 2010
The God of War Ultimate Fan Contest is off to an amazing start! We’ve seen anything from our fans showing off their Kratos tattoo, best of GOW moments with Lego animated films, to just simple video submissions of why they thought Kratos was so bad a$$!!!
To further fuel your interest and excitement in having your fan video submission and name forever immortalized within God of War III Ultimate Edition, here’s a sneak peek at the official documentary God of War: Unearthing the Legend.
Hosted by American film/stage actor and historic lecturer, Peter Weller (RoboCop, Engineering an Empire) God of War: Unearthing the Legend takes the viewer through an epic journey of conquest, destiny and revenge as the detailed events of Kratos is explored and dissected by key members of the development team, Greek historians & professors.
So if you haven’t done so, be sure to take advantage of your three-day Martin Luther King weekend and get your Ultimate Fan video filmed and submitted.
The Ultimate Fan Contest officially ends on Saturday, January 23 and this will be your only chance to be forever immortalized within the God of War franchise (…and getting a free copy of God of War III Ultimate Edition signed by Santa Monica Studios doesn’t hurt either)!
