If you’re like me, you’re literally crawling out of your skin with anticipation to “uncover the truth” with Nathan Drake and Victor Sullivan when UNCHARTED 3: Drake’s Deception arrives on 11-1-11.
Helping to make the launch of our favorite game series all the sweeter, and further expanding the lore of Drake’s travels, be sure to visit your favorite local book and comic stores to reserve these two outstanding adventures in print entertainment for Uncharted!
First up, and on sale October 4th, 2011 is UNCHARTED: The Fourth Labyrinth, written by author Christopher Golden who recently shared with us:

For those of you clamoring to learn more about the adventure in store for Nathan Drake, we’ll share with you this excerpt from the back cover of the book:
In the ancient world there was a myth about a king, a treasure, and a hellish labyrinth. Now the doors to that hell are open once again.
Nathan Drake, treasure hunter and risk taker, has been called to New York City by the man who taught him everything about the “antiquities acquisition business.” Victor Sullivan needs Drake’s help. Sully’s old friend, a world-famous archaeologist, has just been found murdered in Manhattan. Dodging assassins, Drake, Sully, and the dead man’s daughter, Jada Hzujak, race from New York to underground excavations in Egypt and Greece. Their goal: to unravel an ancient myth of alchemy, look for three long-lost labyrinths, and find the astonishing discovery that got Jada’s father killed. It appears that a fourth labyrinth was built in another land and another culture—and within it lies a key to unmatched wealth and power. Up next, and on sale November 30th, 2011 is a new six-issue UNCHARTED comic book series by DC Comics. The comics are being written by Joshua Williamson with pencils by Sergio Sandoval and covers by Tony Harris (not to mention a variant cover for Issue #1 by fan favorite Adam Hughes). DC’s SVP of Digital of DC Entertainment, Hank Kanalz, had this to say about the upcoming series:
“We’re creating a hi-octane, adventure comic that adds to the official canon of the Uncharted franchise. The book will be entertaining for both fans of the game, and new fans who read the comic and then want to play the game.”
As far as timeline, the comic book series takes place before both UNCHARTED 3: Drake’s Deception and UNCHARTED 2: Among Thieves and will find Nathan Drake discovering that the legendary Amber Room was hidden by another great explorer, Sir Richard Byrd, where legend has it that many, many years ago, Byrd hid the Amber Room in the fabled Agartha (a legendary city that is said to reside in the earth’s core, often referred to as “The Hollow Earth”). Drake competes with a new adversary to find clues that will lead them on a journey to the center of the Earth — and a breathtaking new adventure.
The UNCHARTED video game franchise continues to expand into a globally recognized entertainment brand that resonates with fans across a broad spectrum. The demand for new and exciting ways for fans to remain steeped in the adventurous world of UNCHARTED, even when away from their gaming console, has generated an entire slew of goodies that touches upon almost every facet of entertainment, pop culture, and collectible! From UNCHARTED video games, action figures, clothing, statues, posters, gaming accessories, comic books and novels; for many of us, our holiday wish list can be completed by sending our loved ones a link to this blog post!

LittleBigPlanet 2: Adventure Trailer Revealed

I know you have been clamoring for more information about LittleBigPlanet 2. As always, Mark has keeping you in the know with FAQs on some of the features of LittleBigPlanet 2, as well as some of Sackboy’s new abilities that you’re dying to try out. Then last week at Comic-Con we announced our launch date and preorder goodies!
Excellent, yes, but what about the story mode, you ask? Let me just say this: if you enjoyed the story mode of the original LittleBigPlanet, then the new adventure you and your Sackboy (or Sackgirl) are about to go on will blow you away. Get ready for an all-new adventure, with an amazing new cast of characters that will take Sackboy on an “out-of-this-world” adventure.

UNCHARTED 2: New Multiplayer Playlist “The Lab,” and new PSN Avatars

Hey Everyone, Are you itching for some more multiplayer mayhem? Well, you’re in luck!
This weekend – May 28 to June 1 – we’re introducing a new playlist that will mix things up and maybe, possibly lead to updates or additions to the existing playlists in competitive Matchmaking. We’re calling this playlist “The Lab.”
We’ll be running “The Lab” Playlist roughly every other weekend for the foreseeable future.
During each weekend “The Lab” is active, we’ll be running a playlist featuring one or more custom-tuned gametype variations from the tons of variables we can tweak in our multiplayer gameplay settings.
Here’s the current schedule and description for the first event in our “The Lab” Playlist series:
May 28 – June 1
2 vs. 2 Team Deathmatch
Grab a partner for this small- to medium-size map mow-down. You’ve got 15 minutes to rack up 25 kills, or more than the other team, to prove your small-team superiority. I’m going to recommend now that you’re going to want pick a reliable teammate you want to play with over the weekend…
Of course, to commemorate the launch of “The Lab” Playlist program will be a Double Cash Weekend!
Starts: Friday, May 28, 10:00 AM PDT
Ends: Tuesday, June 1, 10:00 AM PDT
As with our previous Double Cash Weekend, the per match cash limit has also been raised to $150,000 maximum per match.

Sneak Peek: The Art of UNCHARTED 2: Among Thieves

As you may have seen on NaughtyDog.com, the developers of the 2009 smash hit UNCHARTED 2 have released details around the upcoming art book, The Art of UNCHARTED 2: Among Thieves from Ballistic Publishing.
As described in Naughty Dog’s post, the Limited Folio edition is available in only 200 printed copies, but includes elite extra details beyond the standard paperback and the leather-bound Special Edition. The Limited Folio Edition of the art book is bound in black suede leather with gold-embossed cover art, and a matching hand-crafted, black suede leather-bound presentation case with a ribbon. Also included is a certificate of authenticity that have been individually numbered and hand signed by Evan, Amy, Robh and Erick. Each book is 272 pages and contains over 180 pages of concept art, and over 80 pages of production art and character models.
All three editions will be available this month and can still be pre-ordered NOW at Ballistic Publishing.

What’s New?
There is no longer any reason to be scared should the cities of LittleBigPlanet become threatened by an evil super villain, for The Incredibles will be here to save us all.
Coming soon to the LittleBigStore is The Incredibles Costume Kit inspired by the Disney/Pixar animated feature, The Incredibles. This huge pack features NINE costumes: all of The Incredibles family (including a “Retro” Mr. Incredible sporting his classic blue costume), their allies Frozone and Edna Mode, and their arch nemesis, Syndrome.
