This Week in PlayStation Home: Novus Prime 1-Year Anniversary Event, Holiday Specials, New Movies

This Thursday, November 30th, join the PlayStation Home community as we celebrate the one-year anniversary of PlayStation Home’s exclusive multiplayer space combat shooter Novus Prime. To kick start this special event, Nebulon and Experience boosters will be absolutely free for all players (available for a limited time only)! Each booster lasts for 24 hours and increases gains by 150%. To top things off, select Novus Prime items will be on sale for 50% off. This deal won’t last forever, so report to the Novus Prime space station this Thursday and join the fight!

Snow has begun to fall in the Lockwood Publishing Showcase, transforming it into a magical winter scene. Visit the Lockwood Publishing Showcase this Thursday to dance with Timmy the Gingerbread Man, marvel at the new festive Stitchkins and get a sneak peak at what Figment and Iron Fusion have in store for the future. And if that’s not enough, there’s a fantastic winter spa area where you can have chill out in a hot tub with your friends… not to mention a new batch of limited time rewards! Pro tip: pay attention to what Locky says, as he’ll give hints on how to unlock the rewards. Some of his clues may help, some may confuse, but one way or another, they will eventually lead you to the prizes – just be sure to keep checking back in order to collect all the Holiday rewards.

Konami expands their popular B’Loons line this week with the new Breakdancer, Pirate, Hula Dancer, and Martial Artist costumes —each with custom animations. Home Weekly Update: Watch Free Full-Length Movies with Crackle

PlayStation Home is proud to announce the release of Crackle on all LOOT EOD Screens this week. Now you can watch hundreds of full-length Hollywood movies and thousands of television shows with your friends for free. The LOOT EOD Screens can be found in the LOOT EOD Theater, Sunset Yacht, and the Hollywood Hills House. Catch up on these must-see movies available from Crackle: Step Brothers, Cruel Intentions, Snatch, Resident Evil, A Few Good Men, Final Fantasy: Advent Children, and many more! The PlayStation Home Community Theater gets its weekly update with three new, exclusive videos from Hip Hop Gamer, Replay with Doc, and Urgent Fury. Hip Hop snags a great interview covering House of the Dead with the PlayStation Move Sharp Shooter, while Doc and Hippe interview Tim Cox from Brady Games, and finally Jack Dellhouse from Urgent Fury shares insight on the recently released Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and its subtle changes and additional polish that enhance everything that fans of the COD franchise will love. Head to screen 1 in the Theater to enjoy the show.

Following that, there are some new sale items in the Mall. Get them while they’re hot! Also be sure to search for the 10 new free items of the week. Magnus and co. are in the generous spirit a little early!

PlayStation Home Announces UNCHARTED 3: Drake’s Deception Total Game Integration

Calling all Fortune Hunters! This Thursday, October 13th, one of the most celebrated game franchises of all time comes crashing into PlayStation Home. UNCHARTED 3: Fortune Hunter provides a third-person adventure game experience unlike anything you’ve ever seen in PlayStation Home, including a partial recreation of the Yemen level from the UNCHARTED 3: Drake’s Deception multiplayer mode, and a cover-based shooting system complete with weapons and gameplay inspired by the hit UNCHARTED series. UNCHARTED 3: Fortune Hunter is the latest Total Game Integration event allowing players to unlock exclusive content in UNCHARTED 3: Drake’s Deception directly from PlayStation Home.

Over the course of the next three weeks, players will be pitted against waves of enemies developed from character models straight from UNCHARTED 3: Drake’s Deception. Progress through challenges to unlock special PlayStation Home rewards, such as collectible weapons; complete all 10 challenges to unlock the Kickback Endurance Booster for use in UNCHARTED 3: Drake’s Deception multiplayer when the game releases on November 1st. That’s not all – players that pre-order UNCHARTED 3: Drake’s Deception directly from PlayStation Home will receive an exclusive Nathan Drake costume with custom shooting animation for their PlayStation Home avatars. In other news, VEEMEE will release a brand new arcade game, Savage Cosmos, into the wide world of PlayStation Home this week. Extra Life is an annual 24-hour video game marathon that raises money to help kids at Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. It’s never been this much fun to do this much good. This Thursday, September 8th will see a new Resistance 3 space invade Home, bringing its own public space complete with mini-games, rewards and more. What better way to celebrate the launch of Insomniac’s well-reviewed shooter than to suit up, win some rewards, and deck out your personal space with the spoils of war?

Home is also updating several core spaces, including Central Plaza (check it for a heavy surprise), and arcade cabinets for the Theater.

While you are there, you’ll notice that Scribble Shooter arcade cabinets have been placed throughout the Theater, so step on up and give this critically-acclaimed PlayStation Home-exclusive a play!

In anticipation of the upcoming Dead Island TGI (total game integration), pop into PlayStation Home this Thursday, August 4th to check out the Zombie Survivor Quiz to determine your level of cunning against the hordes, and you’ll be rewarded for it. PlayStation Home 1.5 Update + Sodium Personal Space, Aurora War Event & More!

PlayStation Home will be taken offline this evening for our weekly content publish. While this downtime will occur approximately 24 hours earlier than what you have become accustomed to per our regular schedule, when the doors are re-opened on the morning of Wednesday, April 20th, you’ll find that PlayStation Home will be updated to version 1.5 and will, in turn, be bigger and better than ever before.

PlayStation Home v1.5 was developed with one singular goal in mind: high-quality games. The 1.5 update will introduce a suite of new technology for developers with tools that will provide their future games with real-time multiplayer, improved physics, as well as more realistic graphics and animations. PlayStation Home v1.5 is packed with tools and features that will enable developers to expand the types of games possible on the platform – from first-person shooters with real-time, peer-to-peer multiplayer to racing games and more.

Also coming with v1.5 are more avatar save slots (24!), new facial building features, better furniture management, various graphical tweaks to the Navigator, improved object placement options within your personal space, increased Chat Log options, and more. This week, the highly anticipated Sodium Blaster’s Paradise personal space will be released. Head to the Sodium Store in the PlayStation Home Mall to pick up this lush, sub-tropical personal space which includes the awesome Sodium TankTop 1.0 mini-game – a maddeningly addictive game where you can blast away waves of enemies with an array of explosive weaponry and fight your way onto the leaderboards.

The latest additions to Lockwood Publishing’s Cucumber’s line will hit the shelves of the Sodium store this week. From now until May 1st in the mega-popular Aurora game space, nDreams will pit the North American community against the European community in a duel to determine which territory has the most hardcore PlayStation Home gamers in the “Battle of the Atlantic” competition. Here’s how it will work: Each day nDreams will take an average of the top 50% of scores from each territory using both Orbrunner and Aurora Defense scores. The running total will increase as the average scores are added from the previous days and will be broadcast on the ticker in the Aurora space as well as on a special website set up for the event: AuroraWar.com. The prize? The top two best players from both North America and Europe will both be inducted as the first “Generals of Aurora.”

This week in the PlayStation Home Community Theater, we introduce PS Talent, a long-standing Home-centric machinima, print and video group that specializes in showcasing the most talented members of the PlayStation Home community. This Thursday, April 14th, you too can become one of a strictly limited number of players to gain early entry to Sodium 2-Project Velocity, the soon-to-be-released high-energy racer available only in PlayStation Home. This Week in PlayStation Home: LOOT Space Station, Sodium Update and Tons of New Games and Items!

This Thursday, April 7th, the PlayStation Home community will be treated to a wide range of new content – from updates to top PlayStation Home-exclusive games to 100% original videos and plenty more!

First off, LOOT releases their brand new Space Station – a public space devoted to videos and special events. Check it out when it releases this Thursday into the wide world of PlayStation Home.

Home Mansion Expands, New PixelJunk Content Arrives + Weekly Update

This Thursday, March 3rd, PlayStation Home welcomes the second expansion to the Home Mansion. This week, everyone will be able to get their hands on the Second Floor with Game Room. Like the previous parts of the Mansion, it comes complete with its own gift machine, ready to hook up your friends with a handful of glittering gold items. Unique to this floor, it comes with its own pool table and dart game.

Landing the same week as PixelJunk Shooters 2 on PSN, PixelJunk is bringing new content to Home related to sister titles, PixelJunk Monsters and PixelJunk Racers. Final NASA Shuttle Launch is First Live-Streaming Event in PlayStation Home + Weekly Update

This Thursday, February 24th PlayStation Home and LOOT will be hosting a very special live event. Beginning at 1:50 pm Pacific Time (4:50 pm Eastern) a live stream of the final liftoff of Space Shuttle Discovery will be broadcast on the new NASA TV Channel of the LOOT Sunset Yacht (formerly known as the Amaterasu), a premium personal space available from the LOOT store in the PlayStation Home Mall. Be a part of history and watch as the last Discovery launch becomes the first live-streaming event featured in PlayStation Home!

You’ll notice when you visit the Sunset Yacht that this mega-popular personal space has received more than just a name change and an updated program guide on the built-in TV. Beginning this Thursday, February 24th, the Sunset Yacht will live up to its new name by offering owners the ability to set the time of the day while cruising the high seas—a first for PlayStation Home!
